বিশ্ব কখনও নীরব থাকে না। পৃথিবীর গান চিরকাল ধরে চলতে থাকে।গ্রীষ্মে উত্তপ্ত সূর্য পাখিদের ক্লান্ত করে। তার ফলে সাধারণত কিচির মিচির করা সক্রিয় পাখিগুলো ছায়াভরা গাছে আশ্রয় নেয় এবং গান গাওয়া বন্ধ করে দেয়। এই স্তব্ধতা পল্লি অঞ্চলকে শান্ত ও নীরব করতে পারত । কিন্তু তাও প্রকৃতিতে গান শোনা যায়। মাঠের ঝোপঝাড়ে সে গান ছড়িয়ে পড়ে। এটি হল সদা-সক্রিয় ঘাসফড়িঙের গান যে ঝোপের ভিতর আনন্দে একটানা ডেকে চলে। গ্রীষ্মের আনন্দে সে-ই মুখ্য ভূমিকা পালন করে। তাপে অবিচলিত থেকে তার গান দারুণ আনন্দ প্রকাশ করে। যখনই ক্লান্ত হয়ে পড়ে, সে আরামদায়ক আগাছার নীচে বিশ্রাম নেয়। এইভাবে, ঘাসফড়িং, গ্রীষ্মের কবি, নিজের মতো করে প্রকৃতির কবিতাকে বাঁচিয়ে রাখে। শীতেও পৃথিবীর কবিতা কখনও বন্ধ হয় না। শীতের সন্ধ্যায় সর্বত্র নীরবতা বিরাজ করে। এরকম শান্ত পরিবেশে ছোট্ট ঝিঁঝির গান প্রবাহিত হয় ঘর গরম রাখার চুল্লির পিছন থেকে। এর গান পৃথিবীতে নিয়ে আসে উত্তাপ আর আনন্দ | শীতে তুষারসৃষ্ট নীরবতাকে হারিয়ে দেয় এই গান। আগুনের
